Hamza Syed Ali | Chair

Hamza Syed Ali (he/him) lived in Kingston to attend Queen’s University, and received his bachelor’s degree in 2021; majoring in Political Studies and minoring in Religious Studies. The bulk of his theatre experience flows from his time within the Queen’s theatre community, mostly as an actor. Hamza originally joined as a writing intern on the Blog team and has since become intrigued with the organization’s nature and mission of community-centric sector development. He is currently working on receiving a JD from the University of Windsor.

James Hyett | Secretary

James Hyett (he/him) is a producer, translator, and performer who loves reimagining classical works and bringing people together across languages. He is also one of the co-founders of the First Ditch Collective, which makes audio dramas about fantastical creatures set in and around Kingston.

Lib Spry (she/her) is a Canadian director, playwright, and academic based in Kingston, ON. She is a co-founder of Company of Sirens and Straight Stitching Productions and served as the artistic director of Passionate Balance.

Krista Gansterer

Krista Gansterer (she/her) is an art enthusiast and promoter of the visual and performing arts. Krista has been based in Kingston since 2007 partaking in Kingston’s art scene and community events; started out as a personal trainer and Pilates instructor teaching at a variety of studios and recreational centres. From there, taught belly dance classes, took part in aerial rope classes, and joined a parkour team and recently a weekly modern dance class at the Kingston School of Dance. For two summers, performed through the Kick and Push Festival with Single Thread Theatre Company with Liam Karry as a director through the production of Ambrose; a dance piece and also an acting piece. In 2015, A movement collective group was formed which promoted art, dance and movement to wider audience. Finally, as a registered massage therapist working in Kingston, Krista wishes to foster community involvement through the arts, creation and public works in Kingston and area.
