A festival for anyone who is curious about what’s next.
FOLDA’s programming is structured to support artists creating theatre in a digital age. They borrow an iterative model from software design, presenting work at three stages of development:
ALPHA: Performances in their earliest stages, ready for internal testing, but require audience feedback to spark the next stage of development.
This year’s ALPHA projects are: WindRush by Marcel Stewart and The Mary Robin Show by Deaf Spirit Theatre
BETA: Performances ready for public testing to refine the audience experience.
This year’s BETA project is: 2021 by Cole Lewis, Patrick Blenkarn and Sam Ferguson
GO: Performances ready for production release. Audience input contributes to improvements and bug fixes just like your favourite app.
This year’s GO presentations are: Reflections and Refractions by PeerLess Productions
To see their iterative model in practice, check out the Incubator Page.
The festival runs from June 4-7, 2025. For scheduling and more information on performances, click here. The dates and times listed below are only the time of the first performance for that day.
