The first collective creation from PeerLess Productions is a satire for our times!
Playing between June 17 and 25, We’re All in Jeopardy is the most adventurous show yet from PeerLess Productions, the unique mixed-abilities theatre company that brought Kingston Rare and Down Syndrome by the Dozen.
We’re All in Jeopardy mixes live action, green screen technology, film and animation to tell the story of a fictional group of Kingston celebrities who compete on a rigged game show fundraiser. The surreal spoof, directed by Kathryn MacKay with music by David Archibald, features more than a dozen characters and is the first show entirely collectively-created by the acclaimed professional group.
Audiences may not initially root for all the colourful, opinionated contestants – but their quirks soon become more than endearing. Millionaire Sunny Marv (played by longtime lead Nathan Sikkema) tries to have his chauffeur (Greg Wanless) take over, but Daisy (Maeghan Granger), who has ADHD and a lot of fury, stands up to him with brother/sister rap duo the Dawg Dawgs (David Archibald and Natasha Daw). Fortunately, the magic and tricks of Hope (Ashaya Garrett) and Pandora (Lin Bennett) even the odds… until the zombies arrive. “Famous author” Jacob Ballantyne and his assistant Jeff McGilton add to the fun, with cameo appearances from Erin Bennett, Carolyn Hetherington, Tristan Neville, Laura Quesnelle, Mandy Robertson, Anna Sudac, John Gwynne-Timothy, and Bernice Wanless.
Performances will be held at The Box (H’art Centre), at 237 Wellington Street.
The performance on June 25 is a relaxed performance for those with sensory sensitivities (see the website for details). Suitable for all ages.
