JUST ANNOUNCED: Theatre Kingston’s 2018/19 Season
Theatre Kingston has just announced their season for 2018/19! On the roster for this season are 2 plays: The Butcher by Nicolas Billon, and What a Young Wife Ought to Know by Hannah Moscovitch. Both playwrights are Canadian.
The Butcher, playing in the Baby Grand Theatre from October 26 – November 11, explores themes pertaining to victimhood in an elusive judicial system.
“A mysterious old man is dropped off at a police station, wearing a foreign military uniform, a Santa hat, and a meat hook dangling around his neck. Impaled on the end of the hook is the business card of a lawyer with the words “arrest me” on it.”
What a Young Wife Ought to Know is playing from January 30 – February 17 in the Baby Grand, and follows young wife and new mother Sophie in her efforts to host for an evening.
“It’s 1920s working-class Ottawa, and young wife and mother Sophie is the host of the evening. We know her deceased sister will speak to her. We know her stable-boy husband makes very little money. We know that Sophie does not want more children.”
