Synopsis

Love Letters, by A.R. Gurney, explores the themes of love, memory, and friendship through a series of heartfelt letters exchanged over the years. Proceeds from this performance will support various activities and initiatives at the DAN School.

Chick Reid is entering her 49th year as a theatre professional and 20th year as an acting professor at Queen’s University. Her long and varied career includes thirteen seasons with the Stratford Festival, four seasons at Theatre Plus Toronto, six seasons at the Shaw Festival, and appearances at various theatres across Canada and abroad. Chick was honoured to receive CAEA’s Life Membership Award in 2018 for her contributions to the Performing Arts in Canada.

Tom McCamus has just returned from the Stratford Festival where he played Judge Brack in Hedda Gabler and Arthur Miller in Salesman in China. His long and varied career has included seventeen seasons at the Stratford Festival, ten seasons at the Shaw Festival and many years at theatres across Canada. Tom has played such roles as Richard III, Coriolanus, Edmund Tyrone, MacHeath, King John, King Arthur, Brutus, Captain Hook, Aslan, Horace Vandergelder, Peter Pan, Androcles, King George III, Charles II, Hamlet, King Lear, Rhett Butler, and Mozart. In the Film and Television world, Tom has appeared in I Love a Man in UniformThe Sweet HereafterLong Day’s Journey into NightConfessions of a Teenage Drama QueenRoom, and Orphan Black. Tom has won Dora, Genie, Gemini, and ACTRA Awards. Chick and Tom live on a farm in Warkworth with their beloved Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers.
